Pamela Anderson Wants to Know: Could YOU Live in a Bathtub?

With an outside temperature of 90 degrees, the six Rottweilers locked inside the hot car quickly became overheated. And there was no way for them to cool off.

Hour after hour, they waited helplessly for their owner to return — but he never did.

It was more than 11 hours before a bystander called the police. But by then, three of the dogs were already dead.

Sadly, their story is not unique. Every year, dogs left in hot cars die.

The laws we’re fighting to establish will empower law enforcement and everyday citizens to take action when they see a suffering or dying dog locked in a hot car. These laws are desperately needed because in many states, civilian rescuers could be sued for damages resulting from breaking into a car to save a dog’s life.

This is what happens when our legal system values property over the lives of animals. Our laws should protect animals and punish their abusers — not their heroes.

That’s why the Animal Legal Defense Fund is doing everything we can to educate policymakers and the general public about this important issue. Animals face real, life-threatening danger when left alone in hot cars. And Good Samaritan laws are necessary to help prevent more deaths.

Dogs can — and do — die within minutes of being left in hot cars. If people like you and I can save a dog dying in a hot car, shouldn’t the law allow us to do so?

Every preventable death is a tragedy, and we need your support to stop them. Please feel free to help save dogs’ lives and protect animal heroes.

In April, PETA exposed that horses were whipped and camels were beaten bloody for Egypt's tourism industry.

After seeing the investigative footage and an official complaint filed by the Society for the Protection of Animal Rights in Egypt, local authorities have arrested three people for torturing camels at the Birqash Camel Market in Cairo. They could be fined, and they face up to six months' imprisonment.

Camels from the Birqash market are sold to the tourism industry, and when they're no longer able to give rides around the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, or Saqqara's ancient burial site, they're returned to the market and sent to be slaughtered.

Visitors who pay to take a ride are directly contributing to these animals' pain and misery.

Please, never ride an animal, and help us urge Egypt's minister of tourism to end this abuse by banning the use of animals at these sites. TAKE ACTION Now
